Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre (Outdoor 50m)

Spectacular Olympic swim stadium.

Uber over to Albert Park for a much-anticipated visit to the MSAC (Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre). The centre is a multi-pool venue with two full 10-lane by 50m pools, both of which feature impressive spectator seating. This is a world-leading competition venue, with the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2007 World Aquatics Championships having been held here.

This is pool #2 of the three on offer here; I’ve just completed the indoor 50m pool and have now ventured out through the glass doors to the outdoor pool.

Complete a slightly quicker 1km, knowing I’ve only the 25m swim training pool to complete the set.

The pool deck includes the latest swim tech, including a covered endless swim tank for static training against a computer-controlled water jet. Unfortunately, I think this is reserved for the pros - plus, it wouldn’t count for my 1,000-pools challenge!
