Bonus swim in the Olympic warm up pool.
Competition pool done, now time for a quick bonus swim on the other side of the glass partition. The glass roof over this part of the building looks impressive and gives loads of overhead light.
I think the training/warm up pool has changed since the Olympics. I suspect it was originally under a seating block and may have been wider. There's now a kids aqua park on the far side, probably added post Olympics.
The eight lane 50 m pool is set up with a slim wall divider that turns four lanes into eight 25 m lanes, if you get what I mean. At some point during my short swim they lowered the divider. I was in the lane right next to it. I didn't even notice, which shows how slick and easy they are. Chatting to the lifeguard after my swim (don't worry, I wasn't distracting the active lifeguard), he said it's super easy: connect it to the compressor airline to raise it, flood it to lower.
Both pools at Olympic Park done, time for something a little more salty, equally historic.
Pool Review
Great repurpose of the former training pool area, extending its functionality with family friendly features.
